Firefox 3 History Recovery How?

1. Download "Firefox 3 History Recovery"  This program is currently the only tool available to help restore deleted history.
2. Extract the file. On most computers, this can be done by double clicking the file and selecting the "Extract" button. Once the file has been extracted, a folder titled "release1.2" will appear on your desktop.
3.  Open the "release1.2" folder by double clicking it. Inside the folder will be a program titled "FF3HR1.2.exe." Double click the program to start recovering your deleted history.
4. Wait for the program to finish running. This should only take a few seconds. If the program was able to successfully recover the deleted Firefox information, a new screen will pop up allowing you to view the history.

How to Recover Deleted Internet History in Windows?

System control was disabled by a user, or it is inappropriate to use it .Well, let's try another tactic. There are lesser known log files that Windows keeps, which are independent of both the Registry and individual Program logs. They are called "index.dat" files. Use the Windows Search Tool to find all occurrences of "index.dat" on your C: drive.

  • On XP, click Start, and Search, then For Files & Folders, and All Files & Folders, now enter "index.dat" in the Filename field. Before searching:

    • Limit the search to C: drive using the Look In drop-down.
    • Check the following options using the More Advanced Options line:
      1. Search windows Files
      2. Search history Files & Folders
      3. Search Subfolders
    • Click Search.
    • Be amazed at how many "index/date" files there are.
    • Minimize the Search Results window.
  • You need a tool to read the index/date files. They are NOT text files.

    • Search for "index.dat reader".
    • Download the software, check it for viruses (as you do for all downloads) and install it. Start the program. You can enjoy different Histories, using the button provided.
Please use this link to download the Index.dat reader http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/indexdat-security.html. It is a freeware.

How can I move my message to the top when replying in Thunderbird?

In Mozilla Thunderbird, when replying to a message, you can have your reply inserted above or below the original message. Here is how to change your reply location:
While logged in to Mozilla Thunderbird, click on the menu and click on . On the left-hand menu, select the option under your email account, which will bring up that section on the right. You will see the option Automatically quote the original message when replying. Check this box and then click on the drop down arrow for the 3 reply options:
"start my reply above the quoted text"
"start my reply below the quoted text"
"select the quoted text"
Select the option you prefer and then click OK to close the Account Settings window

•Tools -> Account Settings -> Select your identity
•Click the "Manage Identities" button at bottom right
•Select your identity and click the "edit" button
•Select the "Composition & Addressing" tab
•Under "Composition", check "Automatically quote the original message when replying", followed by "start my reply above the quote", and place my signature "above the quote"

•Tools > Options > Advanced > Select the "General" tab
•Click on the "Config Editor" button at bottom right to reveal a window with your preferences.
•Type "mail.identity.id" into the search bar to reveal a listing of e-mail identities.
•Find the entry containing your identities e-mail address (they are listed numerically from top to bottom in your account settings). For example, "mail.identity.id1.useremail" will correspond to your first identity.
•Find the "mail.identity.id1.sig_bottom" entry.
•If it reads "true", double-click on it to switch it to "false"
Here's a tip to help eliminate tearing your hair out: after applying the workaround - Do NOT access the TOOLS -> ACCOUNT SETTINGS -> MANAGE IDENTITIES window as outlined under "Thunderbird signature placement options" above.
